The Antigua Charter Show is probably one of the most anticipated gatherings of yacht industry-folk on the calendar. Why? Because: sun, sea, beaches and palm trees: what’s not to love?
Having been spared the devastation of Hurricane Irma this year, Antigua is very much open for business and preparations are already underway for the famous charter show; taking place around the quays of Falmouth Harbour, the Antigua Yacht Club Marina and Nelson’s Dockyard.
With everybody tussling for a piece of the pre-show news coverage, brokerages and other yachting companies are working hard to come up with unique and compelling offers to show off during the event, which takes place between the 4th and 10th of December 2017.
Come up with something unique
Communicating your message is something that Mark Pattman and the team at RoamingExpert know a great deal about. For Mark, the Antigua Charter Show is a must-attend event because the remote nature of the Caribbean Islands is well suited to their product.
“This year we have decided to launch a very unique Caribbean Season offer on new data roaming packages for yachts and for crew- which we are due to launch at the Antigua Charter Show,”
Mark is in the UK getting their promotional materials ready to ship to Antigua. RoamingExpert will be enjoying a large presence this year, taking a sponsorship spot on the hospitality desk.
“We have a limited offer of only 150 data contracts, offering 100GB of monthly data, for an astonishingly low price of $395. To put this into perspective, a major competitor is charging $850 for a similar package, so this really is a unique opportunity for yachts who rely on 3G/4G network data for onboard internet, to save some serious money this winter!”
It’s got to be more than just a gimmick
Undoubtedly these will be snapped up by the time the end-of-show horns sound on the 10th of December, but what is really unique about this package is a new partnership for RoamingExpert – who have decided to give back to the islands by donating $25 per month for each SIM which remains active. Potentially during the Caribbean Season months of December-April, RoamingExpert could raise nearly $20,000 for the victims of Hurricane Irma. This figure could rise even more, as the tariffs will remain in place until cancelled and can also be used throughout Europe. And interestingly, they are not the only ones to be using their marketing as a way to fund the relief efforts in the Caribbean.
Superyacht SHERAKHAN and her owner Jan Vekerk will give $20,000 to YachtAid Global for any charters booked in November/ December this year, and their yacht management company Y.CO will give a further $5,000 for any charters booked directly through them.
According to Superyacht Content’s Client Account Manager Zoe Alexander, this type of event-specific package is something which can really set your show preparations apart from the rest.
“Yacht-shows are a great opportunity to get facetime with your clients in an otherwise very scattered industry. When yachts, brokers and industry suppliers come together in one place for a few days, you really need to maximise the chances of getting your products out there on show, and ultimately to make sales. Offering a one-off kind of deal like this is undoubtedly going to help raise your brand profile.”
Anyone interested in grabbing one of these fabulous data packages from RoamingExpert can find Mark Pattman at the hospitality desk during the Antigua Charter Show 2017, and also at The Officer’s Quarters in Nelsons Dockyard for ‘Information Hour’ (Seamless connectivity through hybrid technologies) between 0850-0940 on December 7th.
