Here at Superyacht Content we are of the opinion that Superyacht marketing should be measurable and transparent, so we’ve decided to keep a short journal containing our site performance and news month by month. We want to document publicly how we are growing the readership and improving value and rewards for our advertisers- but also to show off just how much fun we are having!

Read on to find out a bit more about what we got up to in January.

3..2..1.. Liftoff!

Our website launched on January 10th, and our first public post was ‘6 of the biggest names in Superyacht Law

Other highlights on the blog during January included our piece on giga-yacht Dilbar, working with Dynamiq yachts to promote the new D4, and interviewing countless individuals to create our in-depth opinion piece on superyacht galleys

7 facts you really didn’t need to know about #DILBAR… [**link in bio]. 〰〰〰〰〰. ?: @winchdesign_wd. ?: @luerssenyachts

So how did we get on?

Based on the 21 days the website was live we were able to achieve the following stats.

Hurrah! Some more stats:

  • 38.33% of this traffic came from users whose primary language was defined by Google as ‘US-English’, with 33.2% defined as ‘GB-English’.
  • 21% of traffic came from the United Kingdom, with 17% from the USA and 9% from Spain.
  • 50% of site visitors were using IOS devices (iphones), and a further 25% used Android devices. Mobile browsers made up 78% of the total traffic, meaning our focus will continue to be on creating better, more mobile-friendly pages and adzones.

Aquisition

As expected, the vast majority of traffic was driven by social media. Content marketing methods rely on social to bring people onto websites. Once you have someone on your site it’s much easier to market things to them. Almost everyone is on social media, so this method of customer acquisition should be central to your planning.

What to expect for February

More interviews, more reviews and lifestyle content, opinions from industry experts and a fresh look at yachting from the eyes of our contributors and readers. We are experimenting with new tools to speed up the site and to reduce the bounce rate- meaning more pageviews and more impressions for our advertisers. On that note, we are thrilled to be welcoming Camper & Nicholsons International, Charterworld, Superyacht Tenders & Toys, Singapore Yacht Show, Gym Marine & CAPAX Marine Engineering to our family. Many thanks to all for your support!

See ya later!
