Brat Summer. Going through the motions, the lowest of lows, the highest of highs, partying hard, dancing at the club til dawn, using neon green for your nails, tops, and palettes, having existential crises, loving our lives recklessly, authentically, and messily…

Brat Summer, if you put it like that, on board? Hmm.

What Is It Anyway???

If you didn’t know, Charli XCX brought out her album ‘brat’ this summer and Brat Summer officially began.

According to USA TODAY the album is:

“a hot-mess pop star aesthetic, prioritizing club culture at its core but still offering introspective lyrics on aging, womanhood, grief and anxiety.”

In a TikTok interview, Charli XCX elaborated:

“You are just that girl who is a little messy and maybe says dumb things sometimes, who feels herself but then also maybe has a breakdown, but parties through it. It is honest, blunt, and a little bit volatile. That’s Brat.”

Okay, so now we got covered.

So Can Crew Have A Brat Summer?

In essence, it should serve as a reminder that our way of living is about the experiences we create and share, rather than just the substances we consume.

I guess what us at Superyacht Content are trying to say is…yes, you can brat. But brat responsibly 😉 We’re professionals after all. If you go hard, don’t go too far because you’ve got a yacht to run in the morning with captains, owners, and guests to please!!!

But we also know that yachting is a chaotic experience sometimes, as busy and chaotic as it can be serene and peaceful.

Celebrate your life – whether it’s through organising unforgettable themed parties (Brat-themed if you like), exploring new destinations with a zest for life (which you do anyway!), or simply finding joy in the camaraderie and unique lifestyle that yachting offers 💚

3 top tips on bratting responsibly 👀

  • Organise Creative, Inclusive Events: Plan activities that everyone can enjoy, regardless of their drinking preferences. Think themed mocktail parties, beach games, or movie nights under the stars. These events can foster a sense of community and fun without relying on alcohol.
  • Stay Professional & Respectful: While embracing the Brat Summer spirit, always maintain a professional demeanor. Ensure that all interactions with guests and fellow crew members are respectful and appropriate. This balance between fun and professionalism helps create a positive and enjoyable environment for everyone onboard.
  • Prioritise Safety & Well-being: Keep safety at the forefront of all activities. This includes setting clear boundaries for behaviour, monitoring the consumption of alcohol (if any), and being mindful of everyone’s physical and emotional well-being. A responsible approach ensures that fun remains safe and inclusive for all.
