After a somewhat quieter show last year due to Covid, the 2021 Fort Lauderdale Boat Show is back and taking place from 27-31 October 2021. Being the world’s largest in-water boat show, we are expecting plenty of breaking news! In preparation for the upcoming week, we have compiled a list of everything to expect at Fort Lauderdale this year.
More than 1,300 boats and 900 exhibitors
Organisers have said that the 62nd annual show will be “bigger and better” than ever before. With over 900 exhibitors expected, along with more than 1,300 boats on display, this could well be true. Record-breaking numbers of people are expected to attend the event, which spans seven locations and almost 90 acres in Fort Lauderdale.
The Return of Superyacht Village
After a popular debut in 2019, Superyacht Village is returning to FLIBS 2021 for the third time. Held in the Pier south location, it will be the place to experience the biggest yachts attending the show. With debuts expected from Azimut Yachts, Ocean Alexander, Princess Yachts, and the Ferretti Group, it is sure to be one of the most impressive parts of the event.
Plenty of Yacht Debuts
Whilst there are bound to be many exciting reveals over the five days, they will keep most of these under wraps. However, some yachts that are confirmed to debut this year are:
Azimut Grande Trideck
The first-ever 38m Azimut Grande Trideck will be making its debut. The vessel, which boasts three decks and four terraces, provides the ultimate lifestyle of luxury and leisure. The innovative Trideck also includes a ‘Hotel Mode,’ a sustainable element of the superyacht. It allows guests to enjoy the open waters in peaceful silence whilst contributing zero emissions.
Feadship Boardwalk
Feadship’s pure custom 77m superyacht Boardwalk will also make its first appearance after being launched for its sea trials earlier this year. With a stunning interior and exterior design by Halfmann Designs and Studio De Voogt, respectively, Boardwalk will likely be a popular attraction at this year’s boat show.
Ocean Alexander 35R
The 35R is one of a handful of yachts to debut by Ocean Alexander this year. It is a continuation of the Taiwanese shipbuilder’s Revolution series. Designed by Evan Marshall and Arrabito Naval Architects, the stylish 35m vessel offers a “lifestyle of pampered privacy” with luxurious spaces, breathtaking views and a beautiful full-width main deck.
Entertainment for Everyone
There are plenty of attractions and entertainment for those visiting Fort Lauderdale this year. As well as plenty of food, drink and shopping on offer, some extra attractions may be of interest to attendees. These include:
Fort Lauderdale Concurs
A new addition to the entertainment lineup is Fort Lauderdale Concurs. Here, guests can enjoy a rooftop art gallery curated with classic and iconic cars, fine art, fashion and live music. Guests can enjoy all of this whilst indulging in cocktails and canapés.
Aquazone
AquaZone is the destination for all thrill-seekers and water lovers at FLIBS this year. The attraction gives boat show-goers a personal and upfront experience with many different water sports and marine products. With products such as the Hobie Mirage Lynx and the HydroFlyer to try, AquaZone will offer a thrilling ride for attendees.
Windward VIP Club
The Windward VIP Club is an exclusive sanctuary for guests to relish in the excitement of the boat show. The venue boasts a premium open bar and gourmet food. Guests can enjoy this whilst admiring stunning views of the shore and water.
As usual, we are expecting a whole host of announcements once the event is underway. Stay tuned for all of our coverage on the 2021 Fort Lauderdale Boat Show.
