The MYBA Charter Show is fast approaching and when you think of Barcelona, “gin” may not be the first spirit that you would think of drinking. However, the Catalonian Capital has built up quite the love over recent years for this age-old British favourite, and is now home to some of the best gin bars in the world. We’ve whittled the extensive list down for crew and guests, to 5 Gin Bars To visit in Barcelona:

For those who crave a little authenticity, this old dairy is one of the most specialised gin bars in Barcelona. XIX (pronounced “chicks”) bar boasts over 80 types of gin, and the options for mixes are endless. Choose your tonic, and then add anything from cinnamon and ginger to mint and cucumber. Attached to the bar is its own Gin Coner Shop where visitors can receive advice on products that will best suit their tastes.

2. Solange, Eixample

Solange cocktail bar Barcelona.

This bar has been described as “the place that James Bond would visit if he came to town”. If that’s not reason enough for you to make a trip, how about the fact that it is run by a family of mixologists, and that they make a fantastic martini.

3. Bar Eclipse, W Hotel

Bar Eclipse may not specialise in gin, though they certainly serve up some excellent cocktails. Either way, that right there is arguably one of the best views of Barcelona. Enough said!

4. Torre Rosa, San Andreu

Torre Rosa is one of those venues that you have to see to believe. It is truly unique in its beauty and Time Out describe it as “possibly one of the most perfect places in Barcelona”. The house that the bar is situated in was formerly owned by one of the “Americanos”, AKA Catalans who left for the US then returned to Barcelona to spend their wealth. Head barman Jordi Reig knows his cocktails inside and out, and the outdoor terrace offers the perfect moon gazing opportunity for star-crossed lovers.

5. Hotel The Serras, Ciutat Vella

This hotel may not be a specialised gin bar, however, it does offer some beautiful sea views whilst you enjoy a gin-based cocktail on its stylish mezzanine. It also has a rooftop infinity pool and Michelin star restaurant, which are two more reasons why it qualifies in our list of the best gin bars in Barcelona. Even better, it’s also within walking distance of the marina.
