A cold Saturday January 21st saw the highly anticipated launch of new yacht Cloud 9 at the CRN shipyard in Ancona, Italy. This collaboration between Italian duo CRN and Zuccon International project was supported by none-other than Winch Designs, who were also responsible for interiors onboard the owner’s previous yacht named Cloud 9 – a 60m CMN.

The yacht Cloud 9 launch party was quite the ceremony. Yachtspotters and CRN staff in their hundreds came to watch the beautiful superyacht slide backwards into the water amongst cheers from the crowd. You can watch the official video below, complete with slow-motion champagne smash:

CRN’s 2nd Largest Launch To Date

At 74m Cloud 9 becomes CRN’s second largest launch to date, just a shade shorter than 80m Chopi Chopi. She is designed to carry up to 16 guests across an enormous 1000 squae-metres of living space. With 22 crew ready to serve, guests onboard this beautiful yacht should feel well catered for.

A Huge Achievement

Cloud 9 (ex CRN hull 131) is a huge achievement for all at CRN and for the new owner, commissioning his second new-build superyacht.

Alberto Galassi, CRN’s Chairman and CEO of the Ferretti Group, said:

“We are really thrilled to have been involved in the construction of this extraordinary yacht which was a new and exciting challenge for CRN. This incredible 74 metre vessel will reinforce CRN’s expertise and varied range in working with a completely new concept to fulfil an owner’s vision. The result is a cutting-edge yacht that perfectly combines state-of-the-art technology, astonishing design and the best CRN features.”

The 60m yacht Cloud 9 was sold and renamed Ice Angel signalling that it now belongs to the owner of a 55m Heesen by the same name- now also seen for sale.

Meanwhile, the launch of the new Cloud 9 leaves space for the latest Zuccon International Project 79m yacht being constructed at CRN to be moved into the finishing shed. When launched, this will beat Cloud 9 into second place in terms of the longest CRN superyachts in the fleet.

Andrew Winch of Winch Design comments:

“It has been a great pleasure to work with Zuccon, I have always admired Mr Zuccon’s exterior designs and to partner with him and CRN for this project has been very exciting. We have previously designed a 60 metre motor yacht for these clients with whom I have a very close friendship which makes this project particularly enjoyable. It is a pleasure to work with them again and I am appreciative of their trust and confidence.”

CRN currently have a number of projects in the pipeline and are certainly entering a new era of yacht-building. Congratulations to everybody involved in this magnificent project.
